Ovenden Contemporary is an artist-run,
not-for-profit arts promotion agency based in Ely,
Cambridgeshire. Established in 2006, we currently operate
across the east of England, representing a fantastic
selection of new, emerging and established Artists.
Using our Artist's
portfolios, we devise, organise and manage contemporary art
exhibitions for a wide variety of potential venues across
the region, including restaurants, salons, bookshops,
hotels, furniture retailers, theatres, cinemas and even
community facilities. We also devise theme-based projects
in which Artists are invited to participate. These projects
are then offered to a variety of suitable venues as part of
a long-term touring programme. We have recently devised our
new competitions programme, the first of which- the
Needhams Open Art Competition 2009- was launched in autumn
2008.
We carefully select the
Artists participating in our Contemporary Art Promotion
Programme to ensure that we showcase high-quality new and
emerging Artists or well-established, mid-career Artists
who consistently produce challenging, creative, individual
and inspirational works of art.
