Nash Francis
The 'Human Nature Painting'
series by Nash Francis is concerned with four of the basic
tenets of humanity; culture, power, politics and history.
They take the form of heavily abstracted architectural
landscapes- either in modern ruin or in states of
transition. Francis seems determined to understand, not the
effects of this architectural landscape upon humanity, but
rather the effects of humanity upon the urban landscape.
His study of the humanisation of our modern concrete
surroundings evokes a collection of explorations into the
depths of society, environment and human behaviour.
